While pursuing degrees in accounting and finance, David starting DJing at his college radio station. During the summer months, he started spinning in the Chicago club scene. It did not take him long to gain an appreciation for all types of music and a passion for DJing. After attending a friend’s wedding, David was struck by how cheesy and unprofessional the DJ handled the event.
As a lifelong lover of music and the arts, Elizabeth has been engaged in numerous creative activities as a theater participant, choir member, dancer, and musician. When she’s not behind the turntables or her piano, she can be found outdoors (gardening, hiking, or camping), playing with her cat, creating herbal remedies, cooking, baking, or brewing something delicious, reading, writing, studying various subject matter, daydreaming, or perhaps doing yoga.
In her free time, she loves DIY projects, trying new recipes, and sculpting/ceramics; Samantha loves to put a creative spin on everything she does. She won’t be “spinning” at your wedding, but as the Studio Director at Music By Design, she hopes to keep your head from spinning! Samantha strives to make sure everything is in order prior to your event. Working with couples and DJs from the early stages of planning up until the big day, her goal is to make the crazy yet exciting process just a little bit easier.
Stephen started as a trumpeter before moving into music composition and recording. He spent years as a casual DJ before joining Music By Design. While Stephen’s not partial to any one genre of music, he says he finds himself leaning toward music that get’s each particular crowd moving. Feeling the vibe of each crowd is the best way to fill up the dance floor. Stephen’s also a skilled bowler – he even attended college on a bowling scholarship. When he’s not throwing balls or playing records, you’ll likely find him keeping in shape with a pair of roller skates (old-school quad skates only, of course).
Music has been a passion of Tony’s for his entire life. At a young age he would spend the days on his guitar and keyboard, trying to play along to his favorite songs on the radio. Tony earned his degree in broadcasting, learning music production and radio hosting along the way. With aspirations to enter the music business, Tony loves being a DJ at Music by Design. He has a wide array of musical interests and loves to share that passion with others. In his free time, Tony enjoys live music and comedy shows, podcasting, and exploring new parts of Chicago.
